KINGSTON, JAMAICA: FirstCaribbean International Bank, headquartered in Barbados, was recently awarded the "JSE Best Practices Web site". The site was developed and is maintained by the Web services provider Plexus M/2, based in Miami, Florida.
According to the JSE (Jamaican Stock Exchange), the award is intended "To encourage JSE listed companies to raise the quality and the efficiency of the dissemination of information to the investing public via the Web site". The criteria used for the award were:
1. Content of Web site (30 points)
2. Usability (15) points
3. Interactivity / Innovativeness (20 points)
4. Presentation style (25 points)
5. Functionality (10 points)
Prof. Neville Ying, Executive Director of the Mona School of Business in Kingston, chaired the Best Practices Awards Committee. The Hon. Mrs. Rhemia Hall, wife of the Governor General, presented the award at the Best Practices Award Gala Banquet, held at the Hilton Hotel in Kingston.
